Fold a paper storyteller

Remember folding paper fortune tellers in elementary school? This spin on the origami game helps you connect over conversation.

The paper fortune teller phenomenon hasn’t hit my kids’ classrooms yet, so I surprised them with my own rendition of the game. And I’m sharing it here with you, too, because I’ll bet you’re like me: always hunting for ways to engage your kids in conversation, both in a journal and around the dining table. I filled this fortune teller with conversation starters such as Tell me about someone you admire and Tell me a joke.

We’re having so much fun that we’ve renamed the toy our paper storyteller, and we want to share it with you!

Just print the 3-page PDF document below and follow the simple instructions. The first two storytellers include conversation starters, while the third is blank so you can write your own.
